Spicy foods Spicy dishes, such as hot curries or extremely spicy snacks, can overwhelm the delicate flavors of tea. The heat from the spices can also clash with the subtlety of the tea's taste.

Extremely sweet foods  Foods that are overly sweet, like sugary desserts or candies, can make your tea taste bland in comparison. The excessive sweetness can mask the nuanced flavors of the tea.

Citrus fruits While a slice of lemon is a common addition to tea, consuming overly acidic citrus fruits like oranges or grapefruits alongside tea can make it taste sour and unpalatable.

Strongly flavored cheeses Some cheeses have very strong and pungent flavors that can overpower the subtleness of tea. Examples include blue cheese and extremely aged cheeses.

Mint-flavored foods Peppermint or mint flavored foods and candies can interfere with the natural flavors of tea. It's best  to avoid these when  enjoying tea, especially herbal teas that already  have a minty note.

Garlic and onions These pungent ingredients can leave a lingering taste in your mouth that can clash with the flavors of tea. It's better to avoid dishes heavy in garlic and onions when having tea.

Heavy greasy foods Foods that are fried or very oily can leave a heavy feeling in your stomach, which may not pair well with the lightness of tea. Greasy foods can also coat your palate, affecting your ability to taste the tea properly.

Extremely spicy or salty snacks Snacks like salt and vinegar chips or extremely spicy crisps can overwhelm your taste buds and diminish your ability to appreciate the subtleties of tea.
