Colossus of Rhodes - Greece  This gigantic bronze statue of the sun god Helios stood at the entrance of the harbor of Rhodes. It was built to commemorate the island's successful defense against an invading army.

Lighthouse of  Alexandria - Egypt Also known as the Pharos of Alexandria, this lighthouse was built on the small island of Pharos to guide ships into the busy harbor of Alexandria. It was one of the tallest structures of the ancient world and served as a symbol of the city's prosperity.
